It was opened on 1st of July 1892 and belongs to the Mitre railway line. Thus, in the adjacent square, a bust honours the Argentinean politician Bartolomé Mitre. The two-storey building is typically English, with brick walls and sloped roof, which contrasts with the Urquiza Station.
