It is more than a hundred years old and it is still open. Originally, the owner had to walk through the surrounding countryside carrying clothes in his bundle to sell to the rural families.
The name “La Mar” refers to the amount of water needed to extinguish the flames of the store “El Fuego”, Spanish for fire, which was their former competitor.
